A Shine of Rainbows

 photo from: onemoviefiveviews.wordpress.com

I watched A Shine of Rainbows last weekend and I must say, I want to BE her. She pounces in rain puddles.  I wanna pounce in rain puddles.  She wears layers of color--the vivid kind; and sweaters with shawls. This may make me sound really old, but I LOVE shawls. And boots.  And galoshes. She dares to do what others don't.  In my life, I've been more of the safe-cautious sort, but the older I get the more I see the lack in that.  I want my kids to remember me playing with them, laughing and doing crazy things.  Memorable things. Simple things.  Amazing things. I want the main character in my story to jump off the page.

Now off to the thrift store to find a red shawl.

  1. Sad movie! Broke my heart.....she was pretty fearless, though, or lived in spite of her fear, maybe!

  2. Now I want to see the movie. I love what you said "I want my kids to remember me playing with them, laughing and doing crazy things. Memorable things. Simple things. Amazing things." Mee too. I love fashion too and when quirky people pull off that randomness-from-your-closet look, I love it!

I hope you find your red shawl, at least spiritually. ;)

(Haven't been by in a while...shame on me...the blog looks fantastic!)

  4. That is the attitude to have...do what makes you happy as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else! Hope you find that shawl, if not it would might be easy to make one...red of course

  5. That's how my kids see my mother-in-law. I love the way they hero-worship her because she sleds and rides bikes with them and plays games. I want to be that kind of mom (need work there) and that kind of grandma.

most of us are afraid of looking like fools...and then it's on utube.
we need more brave crazy souls!

  7. Bttrfly, I'll admit, there was a pile of Kleenex sitting by me at the end.

Dana, you should, I loved it. And there's no shame on you, you've been writing. :)

Joanne, I agree! You're always full of wisdom.

art2cee2, I've been toying with knitting one for myself!

Shannon, Really? I'd love to be that Grandma someday! But I've got some work there too.

Tara, haha, youtube--it's so true. But where'd we be if no crazy souls were out there to watch, right?

  8. Me, too! I want my daughter to remember all the times we laughed and played, shared memories, hung out, etc. I'd much rather she remember that than whether or not I was a good housekeeper. ;-)
