Why did the Goose Cross the Road?

To get away from the crazy camera lady.

I was waiting for my daughter and happened to see a flock of geese just mulling about in the grass and road ahead of me. I couldn't pass up a chance to photograph them so I got out of my car and slowly crept near. They were on to me though, and didn't stay sitting pretty like I wanted them to. They hurried away across the street. After getting a few shots of them, I just sat and observed their little tribe. Nature is fascinating to me.

What would you pull over to snap a picture of?

  1. I love how geese act like they own the road. So funny.

  2. At least they didn't hurry toward you, snapping! I've seen geese get pretty honkin' agressive. ;)
I once watched two ducks cross a road. What made it hilarious is each one looked a different way down the street before crossing. I had no camera that day!

  3. Great photos. I got a picture of a squirrel once sitting on a fence. They are all over the place at my mom's house. I felt under attack the other day as a squirrel dropped nuts from a tree.

  4. Probably moose. Though we don't have moose around here, so I probably won't get the opportunity. :/

    Eagles.

I saw a herd of elk once, but it was from the freeway and by the time I thought about stopping they were far behind us....

  5. Oh there are definitely a lot of things I would pull over to take pictures of haha. Geese might or might not be one of them though. Depends where I'm at when I see them : ] But isn't it annoying how birds won't sit for pictures? There is this gorgeous hawk that sometimes sits on the telephone wire behind our house and every time--every time--I will take a picture from the screen and zoom as much as possible, then take one step out of the house and he flies away. He is so finicky! I once followed him to his new perch and as soon as I got close to that one he flew back the direction we had come from. Grr. I wish birds weren't so shy about getting their pictures taken!
