Curvy Girl Outfit: Empire Waist

Dress and Shoes: Thrifted
Necklace: c/o The Lady Waits

I love wearing empire waist dresses. And no, it has nothing to do with my Pride and Prejudice fascination. *ahem* I simply like how they give shape without having to define a waistline and that's good if you're a bit curvy in the middle. I especially love the sleeves of this dress and the flowing skirt. Not to mention blue's my favorite (for today)!

  1. I love Empire waist dresses, too. (And it does have a lot to do with MY Pride and Prejudice obsession!) I think they're elegant and feminine and fun--and I can wear them when I'm a few months pregnant, so it's a double plus. :)
The book I'm working on now is set in 1792, when empire waists were just coming into fashion. I'm enjoying describing all the clothes. :)

I, too, love the empire waist fashion as I am a fellow curvy girl. :)

    1. Thanks! My hair's up pretty much all the time nowadays. I'm so glad empire waist dresses are in stores and back in fashion; at least I hope they're in fashion. ;)

  6. Love this on you- it's a gerat look, and your hair is amazing! If I ever let mine grow out I'll have to try that out- or in the mean time, I'll have to make my business partner let me do that with her hair so I can admire it lol :)

    1. When my hair was shorter, I did it in tiny bits so it would look like one roll. Maybe that would work? :)
