Being outside daily in the frigid air has made me long for jungle temperatures which may have inspired this piece.
BUT...
She reminds me of the MC in my middle grade novel simmering in my desk drawer. I miss her. Is that weird? Maybe you shouldn't answer that...
What are you working on?
My MC is a gospel singer, and I do think of her as a friend, too. Or a friend I would like to have. Creating a character, I've found, can be like reading a good book where you just can't wait until the end. I'm sure your MC is longing to get out of the drawer as well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's a sign it needs to come out of the drawer!
ReplyDeleteStill at the end of a first draft of a YA sci-fi. Hopefully one more week and I can start revisions.
:)
I love the painting and I hope it inspires you to get back at your middle grade. I'm working on revisions for my new agent right now, but I have a middle grade on hold.
ReplyDeleteI like the image of the teacher in a vibrant natural setting.
ReplyDeleteI love the more powerful colors in this one, Catherine - stunning as always!
ReplyDeleteIf you miss her, I think you should pay her a visit. :-)

ReplyDeleteThat girl pulled me right in. Vibrant, intriguing painting, and if she reminds you of a story, run you to it!
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's weird at all. Thanks for sharing your beautiful painting and a little bit of your character/story. I hope you get to spend time with her soon!
ReplyDeleteNO!!! I don't want jungletemperatures yet! Can't we keep what we have (less then snow & ice) for a while longer? Please?? :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Shannon. If you miss her, bring her out!
ReplyDeleteI love this painting!! She is so gorgeous!
