Wing Tip #5: Composing Art

"Ink on paper is as beautiful to me as flowers on the mountains; God composes, why shouldn't we?" - Audra Foveo-Alba

This page is from my art journal.  (Sorry the picture's not very clear.)  I liked this quote and thought it fit the first of the year.  Whatever your bent is (painting, scrapbooking, writing, cooking, poetry, music, drama, photography or whatever) I hope it encourages you to go forth today and create!

Note: If anyone's interested in making art journals, check out Suzi Blu's inspirational video here.  I find her quirky and hilarious.  She uses strong language at times, but not in this video.

  1. So funny! Earlier today I took a picture of one of my journal pages to include in a post next week. I LOVE seeing this. I know journals are supposed to be private, expressive places, but I am so interested by other people's journaling! And that's a great quote too!

  2. If God truly is in control then surely he is in control of us too and the words that come from our pens are of his choosing.
In the book of Isaiah chapter 59 verse 21 states:
This, says the Lord, is my covenant, which I make with you: My spirit which rests on you and my words which I have put into your mouth shall never fail you from generation to generation of your descendants from now onward for ever. The Lord has said it.
Encouraging words for a fellow blogger.

  3. Jenny Crusie talked about making collages like that to help you plot books. She says it helps her get that creativity out, too.

  4. I love the idea of an art journal. I'll definitely be following the link. Thanks for sharing, Catherine - great idea! :-)

  5. Sarah Ann, how funny. Can't wait to see yours!
Geoff, thanks for your encouraging words.
Jennifer, what an awesome idea! I'm gonna try that.
Shannon, one taste and you'll be addicted.:)

  6. I listened to a fantastic teacher who said there are two things we must do to be happy: to create and to have compassion. I totally agree.

  7. Very well said, M. Gray. I've never heard those two together but it makes complete sense.

  8. Oh My Goodness, that is gorgeous!!! I am totally inspired and going to check out the link later when I have time to diget!! Can't wait to show my kids your pic!

  9. That's sweet. I'm glad you're inspired. :)

Thank you so much for your visit. I love hearing from you and dearly appreciate your comment!
