A Bit of Whimsy

Still trying to get my WIP  finished by the end of this month, so I won't be posting much this week; but I thought I'd show you what was working on in my breaks.

Stepping away to paint sometimes helps me get back to writing with renewed vigor.

What "side" things keep you inspired? (Besides coffee of course!)

  1. I haven't made any art in a long time, but I'm thinking of doing some collages of characters/events in my WIP. Maybe that will open up some new ways of seeing it.

  3. Great art. I find just getting away from the writing helps, although some breaks end up being longer than others.

  4. Catherine, I love, love, love your artwork! It's always one of my favorite things about visiting your blog. If I could, I would cover my walls with Catherine Denton originals!

    SarahAnne, thank you! :)
Patti, I know what you mean. I have to set timers or my diversions take over.
Shannon, that is SO SWEET! Thank you!! I think that deserves an original...

  8. It's funny, I write to take a break from my art. It seems you make art to take a break from your writing :)

  9. Gardening, but my garden isn't as cute as your painting. :o)

  10. So cute! I have a lot of outlets, most involve being outside but there is also tiling mosiacs. I love doing that and have missed it recently.

  11. Mary, my husband LOVES planning our trips.
Melanie, that's funny. We're mirror twins!
Myrna, I WISH I gardened. My Grandfather always had a large one and I gobbled up all those fresh veggies.
Jackee, I've never tiled mosiacs but it sounds like lots of fun.\
Kristin, that's my daughters favorite - which is why I have weight to lose. ;)
